Dumont,Col. 7/18/08

Sorry we haven't been able to talk for awhile,we've been in a computer and cell phone hole.

But we're back again until we find the next one.
We're at 9000 foot Gamblers Edge Rv. park.Sitting above the beautiful town of Central City,Col.We're here to take a horseback ride and white water rafting trip in Dumont,Col.tomorrow morning.I'll tell you more about that later.
In the mean time alot has happened. We've gone to Pikes Peak on the train.
It's so beautiful. The view from 14110ft. is unbelievable. We could even see Kansas. It was sort of yellow. And boy was it COLD AT THE TOP.We were in shorts and t shirts,no jackets. The plain donuts and hot coca was GREAT!It sure warms the innards.Again I think both boys were impressed. The train ride is really cool.It takes 1and 1/2 hrs.to reach the top and 1 hr.and 25min. to get back down.We got back to the camp ground about9:30pm.to late to do our laundry. The next morning we had to wait to do laundry. So we stayed another day. It's so nice to have clean clothes.
We left Col.Springs this morning after we went to The Garden of THE GODS.It's even more impressive then many of the other places we've been.
The Cliff Dwellings,They're kind of cool. the boys were able to go all through the buildings. It's all self guided and boy were they guiding.
When we left the Caves of the Wind ,we started having trouble with the poor old mohome. It didn't want to climb the mountains or even go down without some bucking.
But late this afternoon I think we figured it out. In Cal. the cheap gas is 87oct.but I noticed that in all the states we've been in lately ,the cheap stuff is only 85oct. I had D put the 87oct. in when we filled up and guess what? It's running much better. I think if we put in one more tank of the good stuff ,we'll be ok.I new my ole mohome was better then that. She just likes prime rib not hamburger.
I hope I have you all caught up.
We'll talk more later.Take care.
Jan
